When I was in my 20's I was a partner in a technology and content distribution company called The Orchard, which is now owned by Sony and generates over $500m in revenue.
During my tenure with The Orchard, I was fortunate enough to help some of the largest technology companies in world, like Apple, Google and Amazon, scale their music and video distribution platforms. But even as we experienced explosive growth, it bothered me that we did not have a way to embed doing good into an employeeās actual journey with the company, outside of a few volunteer and donation opportunities, which got sub par engagement each year.
When I finally left The Orchard, I realized that I did not now know what work life balance was - I was drinking too much, not eating healthy, and did not know whether I even loved myself or not... luckily, my good friend encouraged me to stretch my boundaries far outside of my comfort zone, by attending a ten day silent meditation retreat. It is here that I not only forged a brand new healthier path in life, but I realized that my new "why" in life, was to help corporations do more, because it is good for their bottom line, not merely because society expects them to.
So I guess you could say that I founded Caremob, as a result of finding myself.
